"We worked with Billy Elliot and talked about his story. Now, we will think of a similar story but with a girl as the main character. Her name is Paula, and she lives in São Paulo, Brazil. Paula loves football, but not all in her family support her dream. Let’s read Paula’s story and imagine what happens next!"

Paula was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1980. When she was ten years old, she loved playing football, but she hated dancing. She went to the football stadium with her uncle. They were São Paulo football team fans. Her dad lived in Europe, and Paula didn't see him very much. She lived with her mum and an older brother, and her mum didn't want her to play football. She said that football was for boys. Her mother was a dance teacher, and she made her go to samba classes in a club.

One day, she saw some boys playing soccer, and she decided to dress as a boy and join the game. She started to go to practice every week, and she was a very good player. There was a football tournament, and she wanted to participate. A letter arrived at her house, and her mother found out. She was furious, but Paula's brother wanted to help her. He lent her his boots and clothes for the tournament and talked to their mum. Her mum went to her football practice, and she watched her play. She couldn't believe how good Paula was.

At the tournament, there were scouts watching to find new football talents. They were very impressed with Paula and asked her to join the national team. One month later, at another match, the whole family was there, including her father, who flew from Germany to see her. Her team won the first prize, and the all celebrated together.

Ten years later, Paula became the best football player in Brazil and an inspiration for girls everywhere.
